Commercial HVAC Lead Technician
About the role
Perform service and repairs by diagnosing issues and completing repairs on commercial HVAC systems including rooftop units (RTUs), chillers, boilers, air handlers (AHUs), and related equipment. Install HVAC systems, components, and ductwork in accordance with project drawings, manufacturer specifications, and applicable building codes. Configure, test, and troubleshoot building automation systems (BAS) and digital control platforms. Conduct preventive maintenance including inspections, filter replacements, belt adjustments, coil cleaning, and system performance verification to ensure efficiency and reliability. Maintain accurate digital records of service activities, repairs, materials used, and refrigerant handling in compliance with EPA standards. Adhere to OSHA safety standards and company protocols including proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safe operation of ladders and lifts. Provide leadership and guidance to service personnel while representing the company professionally on job sites.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- EPA Section 608 Universal Certification (required)
- 3-5 years of commercial HVAC experience
- Strong technical knowledge of refrigeration principles
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Qualifications
- NATE certification (preferred)
- Experience working with VRF systems (desired)
- Basic knowledge of plumbing or pipefitting (a plus)
