Commercial HVAC Installation Technician

What You Will Do
- Install building automation systems using hand tools and interpret control drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Prepare for on-site installation by examining building layouts, gathering materials, coordinating with other trades, and coordinating with customers.
- Maintain inventory, document activities, and turn in required paperwork and reports.
- Represent the company by servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction through equipment and system repair.
- Stay updated on Trane products concerning installation of direct digital control systems.
- Inspect and maintain vehicles, keep records of service manuals, and schedule and complete repairs and maintenance.
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and inspected for signs of wear.
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain security and accountability of company assets.
- Work overtime and overnight shifts as needed, displaying flexibility and dedication to customers.
What You Will Bring
- A High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 2-5 years of experience in HVAC/Controls.
- Technical School or formal training preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and handheld computers.
- Knowledge of low voltage electricity, electronics, direct digital controls, and building control techniques.
- Current or future participation in ABC electrical apprenticeship program desired.
- Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations.
- Previous experience with DDC controls system preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seat belt.
- Ability to wear safety gear such as helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harnesses, and safety boots.
- Physical ability to twist trunk, squat, reach overhead, stand for extended periods, lift up to 10 lbs., and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to safely use a 375 lb. weight limit ladder and maneuver confined spaces.
- Exposure to variable weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, risk of electrical shock, and noisy operating equipment.
