Commercial Healthcare Flooring Installer
Principle Responsibilities
- Installs, repairs, replaces, and maintains healthcare grade flooring systems including sheet vinyl, LVT/LVP, rubber flooring, carpet tile, and specialty resilient flooring.
- Prepares subfloors by cleaning, grinding, leveling, patching, and repairing surfaces to meet healthcare and manufacturer specifications.
- Performs heat welding, flash coving, seam sealing, and integral base installation to ensure hygienic and watertight finishes.
- Removes existing flooring materials using appropriate dust control and infection prevention procedures.
- Collaborates with clinical staff, infection prevention, facilities engineers, and contractors in occupied healthcare environments.
- Documents work performed, inspections, materials used, and repairs in the CMMS.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required principle competencies as listed on the job description.
- Vocational Training/Apprenticeship-Flooring installation or construction trades.
- 3+ years experience as a commercial flooring installer.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years experience in Healthcare flooring in hospitals or healthcare settings.
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver’s License required upon hire - MN and WI residents must obtain a valid driver’s license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment.
- Manufacturer Flooring Certification preferred upon hire - One or more of any manufacturers flooring certifications i.e. Armstrong, Forbo, and Tarkett.
Physical Demands
- Very Heavy Work: Lifting weight excess of 100 lbs. occasionally, over 50 lbs. frequently.
- 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period).
- 10-hour day/evening/night shifts.
- Occasional weekends.
Pay Range
Pay Range: $35.61 to $48.81 per hour.
