Commercial Front End Load Driver - CDL Required

About the role

A Commercial Driver is responsible for safely operating a front-end load (FEL) truck and providing courteous waste removal services for customers on a designated route. Drivers must complete daily vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with Company safety standards and state and federal regulations. The role requires strong customer service skills, effective time management, and the ability to work well within a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order. Report any safety issues on standard reports.
• Safely operate a heavy truck along a designated route and to the disposal site; read route sheets, follow maps, and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by the dispatcher/supervisor.
• Courteously interact with customers, dispatchers, and others daily to ensure timely and professional service.
• Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers in accordance with applicable departmental procedures.
• Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste and clean accidental spills while adhering to safety standards.
• Monitor the vehicle’s condition to ensure operational readiness, minimizing downtime; clean waste from the packer blade and truck body on each disposal trip.
• Complete required route/productivity sheets, DVIR, and other reports as needed.
• Maintain adherence to productivity standards to ensure timely and efficient customer service.
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Class B CDL.
• Two years of prior experience driving heavy commercial trucks (preferred).
• Experience in auto loading garbage trucks is preferred but not required.
