Commercial Front End Load Driver - CDL Required

About the role

A Commercial Driver is responsible for safely operating a front-end load (FEL) truck and providing courteous waste removal services for customers on a designated route. Drivers must complete vehicle inspections daily and ensure the vehicle meets the Company’s safety standards and state and federal regulations. The role requires good customer service skills, time management, and the ability to work well with a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order. Report any safety issues on standard reports.
• Safely operate a heavy truck along a designated route and to the disposal site; read route sheets, follow maps, and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by the dispatcher and/or supervisor.
• Courteously interact with customers, dispatchers, and others daily to ensure timely and professional service.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them in accordance with applicable departmental procedures.
• Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste.
• Clean area around accidental waste spills, ensuring adherence to all safety standards and policies.
• Monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure operational readiness and minimize downtime; clean waste from the packer blade and truck body on each disposal trip.
• Complete required route/productivity sheets, DVIR, and other reports as needed.
• Maintain adherence to productivity standards to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner.
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Class B CDL.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of prior experience driving heavy commercial trucks.
• Experience in auto loading garbage trucks (preferred but not required).
