About the role
Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Financial Analyst I, where you'll contribute to financial excellence and business growth. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial analysis and insights that support strategic decision-making. As part of our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, you'll help manage monthly closing processes, develop forecasts, analyze variances, and prepare business reviews. Responsibilities
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment
- Manage monthly closing processes
- Develop forecasts and analyze variances
- Prepare business reviews for senior leadership
- Perform financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
- Analyze large datasets and financial statements
- Identify process improvements and demonstrate problem-solving capabilities
- Travel up to 10% as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field preferred)
- No prior experience required
- Professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) are a plus
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with financial systems such as Hyperion, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under deadlines
- Knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles
- Strong organizational skills
- Business fluency in English; additional languages may be required for specific locations
- Knowledge of Power BI or similar business intelligence tools preferred
