About the role

Universal Energy Solutions is hiring motivated individuals to join our Boston team as Commercial Energy Consultants. Whether you're just starting your career, changing industries, or looking for a fresh opportunity, this entry-level position is designed for people who enjoy working with others and want to build a successful career helping local businesses. No previous sales experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Meet face-to-face with business owners and decision-makers
• Review current electricity and natural gas supply plans
• Help businesses identify opportunities to reduce their energy costs
• Recommend competitive energy supplier options based on each customer's needs
• Build relationships with prospective commercial customers
• Learn our proven customer consultation process alongside experienced mentors
• Travel throughout an assigned territory (typically within a 30-mile radius of the office)
• Build the skills needed to take on larger customer portfolios and advance your career

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable personal vehicle
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable meeting with business owners face-to-face

Preferred

• Previous experience in sales, customer service, retail, hospitality, or another customer-facing role
• Self-motivated with strong communication and organizational skills

Compensation

Base Pay + Commission

• Weekly base pay while you learn the role and build confidence
• Commission earned on new accounts
• Increased earning potential based on performance
• Typical first-year on-target earnings (OTE) range from $55,000–$70,000, with the potential to earn $100,000+ for those who consistently exceed performance goals
