Commercial Drywall Estimator

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for commercial drywall, metal framing, insulation, acoustical ceilings, and specialty ceiling systems.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Analyze project scope and identify potential risks or value engineering opportunities.
  • Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Prepare complete and accurate cost estimates and bid proposals.
  • Develop scope letters and clarifications.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.
  • Cook up bid schedules and meet proposal deadlines.

  • Coordinate with Project Managers during project turnover after award.
  • Maintain bid schedules and meet proposal deadlines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, architects, suppliers, and manufacturers.
  • Auxiliary in budgeting and conceptual estimating when needed.
  • Stay informed on market pricing, material costs, and labor trends.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in commercial drywall, metal framing and acoustical ceilings.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with On-Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid.
  • Knowledge of commercial construction methods and estimating practices.
  • Established relationships with general contractors, architects, and suppliers in the Central Texas market.
