About the role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive bids for commercial interior construction projects. This hands-on role focuses on drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, and commercial flooring, managing the estimating process from initial plan review through final proposal.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare complete and competitive estimates for commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceiling, and flooring projects.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and calculate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive bids.
  • Identify scope gaps, exclusions, risks, and value engineering opportunities during the estimating process.
  • Prepare bid proposals and supporting documentation for submission.
  • Coordinate with project managers, operations teams, vendors, and clients throughout the bidding process.
  • Maintain organized estimating files and documentation using estimating or project management software.
  • Support project handoffs by providing estimating details and scope clarification to project teams.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of estimating experience in commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, or related interior construction trades.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and building systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Experience performing accurate quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
  • Proficiency with construction estimating or project management software preferred.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Commercial interior construction experience is required.
