About the role
Responsible for driving the Mobile MRI Coach to scheduled practice locations representing Lexington Medical Center (LMC). The driver is responsible for leveling, configuring, parking, and setting up the coach according to manufacturer guidelines. This role requires a CDL Class A license, adherence to safety procedures, and maintenance of appropriate logs. The position involves working 15-20 hours per month, primarily during evening and night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Follow all South Carolina traffic and vehicle operator laws, including a commitment to never text while driving.
- Project a pleasant, professional appearance and alert attitude reflecting Service Excellence and Corporate Compliance policies.
- Travel to and accept assignments anywhere in the state where mobile services are needed.
- Plan routes and adapt to unexpected situations such as traffic or weather conditions.
- Follow safety measures for transporting medical equipment and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Drive the Mobile MRI Coach to scheduled locations, park, and set up to receive patients in a timely and professional manner.
- Drive long hours if necessary and adhere to all truck driving rules and regulations.
- For Lexington Medical Center-owned trucks:
- Ensure scheduled maintenance is performed on time.
- Maintain the truck in impeccable condition, including tire pressure, fluid levels, and safety checks.
- Report defects, accidents, and violations immediately.
- Keep the coach supplied with fuel for the backup generator.
- Perform walk-around checks before travel to ensure truck and trailer safety.
- Inspect parking pads to ensure they are clear and clean before parking the coach.
- Practice cost-effective use of supplies and work independently.
- Support the mission, rules, regulations, policies, and protocols of Lexington Medical Center.
- Arrive on time and be prepared to begin work promptly; adhere to the work schedule and remain flexible as needed.
- Evaluate and address any problems with the Mobile MRI Coach, scheduling repairs as needed.
- Schedule and drive the Mobile MRI for routine washing and servicing.
- Maintain strong communication with service repair personnel.
- Identify when equipment is not functioning correctly.
- Demonstrate an exceptional work ethic, sense of responsibility, and commitment to service expectations.
- Perform all other duties as required.
Requirements
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Minimum Years of Experience: 5 years of direct experience.
- Required Certifications/Licensure:
- Current South Carolina Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A).
- Must maintain a DOT Physical card.
- Required Training:
- Acceptable driving safety record.
- Must pass a drug test, background check, and be fit for duty.
