About the role

The Commercial Credit Underwriter III position involves analyzing, underwriting, and making final credit decisions on commercial loan applications. This role adheres to established underwriting guidelines, quality, and production standards, as well as Federal Banking Regulations and Government Reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and underwrites commercial loan applications, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
  • Performs basic financial analysis on less complex loans and industries.
  • Conducts credit investigations and analyzes financial information related to commercial credit exposure.
  • Investigates available sources of credit and financial information, and researches economic and market conditions.
  • Makes final credit decisions within individual lending authority limits, considering strengths, risks, collateral analysis, historical financials, and business/cash flow analysis.
  • Discusses alternative structures and overall assessments with market/sales personnel.
  • Maintains a satisfactory level of portfolio delinquencies and charge-offs, ensuring departmental compliance with TD Bank Credit Policy, Federal Banking Regulation, and Government Reporting requirements.
  • Provides coaching, counseling, and mentoring to the underwriting staff.

Requirements

Requires an undergraduate degree and 8+ years of relevant commercial lending experience. Strong analytical and research skills are essential, along with proven problem-solving abilities and organizational skills. Demonstrated leadership skills and strong communication and interpersonal skills are also required.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree preferred.

  • Ability to work with various levels of business partners.
  • Developed PC skills including proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Physical requirements: Performing sedentary work, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, lifting up to 25 lbs., and responding quickly to sounds.

Skills

Strong analytical and research skills, proven problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills are crucial. Leadership skills, including coaching and mentoring, are also important. Proficiency in PC software and the ability to meet deadlines are necessary.

Pay

$43.75 - $70.00 USD per hour, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Full-time position with 40 hours per week.
