Commercial Contracts Counsel
Position Overview
The role of Contracts and Commercial Legal Resource is a high-visibility, high-ownership position within MyOme. Reporting to the SVP of Corporate Operations (GC), this role involves managing the full lifecycle of commercial, vendor, and partner agreements, and building the legal infrastructure to support MyOme's growth.
What You'll Do
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements including customer contracts, vendor agreements, MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, data use agreements, and partnership/licensing deals
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related matters across commercial, R&D, and operations teams
- Maintain and continuously improve our contract templates, playbooks, and approval workflows
- Advises business stakeholders on contract risk, obligations, and compliance in plain language
- Supports due diligence and legal review for business development and partnership opportunities
- Collaborates with outside counsel on complex or specialized matters
- Ensures contracts are properly executed, stored, and tracked through their lifecycle
- Contributes to the development of internal legal policies and procedures as the company grows
What You'll Need
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state
- Bar admission in California required; candidates currently admitted in another state who are eligible to waive into the California Bar are welcome to apply
- Minimum seven (7) years out of law school, with meaningful in-house experience required — prior law firm background is a plus but in-house exposure is essential
- Experience in life sciences, genomics, digital health, or healthcare technology is strongly preferred
- Experience using AI to augment legal reviews, processes, and contracts management
- Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts independently
- Exceptional attention to detail — you catch things others miss, and you care about getting it right
- Ability to communicate legal concepts clearly and pragmatically to non-legal stakeholders
- Comfortable operating with autonomy in a lean, fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with data privacy considerations (HIPAA, state privacy laws) is a plus
- Experience with contract lifecycle management tools is a plus
Location, Compensation, and Benefits
Location: Hybrid role, 2 days a week onsite at our San Francisco, CA office (near Montgomery BART). Occasional travel required for team meetings.
Compensation: Base salary range of $185,000 - $195,000, depending on experience, with bonus eligibility and equity.
San Francisco Bay Area pay range: $185,000 USD - $195,000 USD
