Position Overview

Staxmatic is seeking an experienced and driven Commercial Construction Project Manager (MEP) with a strong background in mechanical and/or plumbing construction to lead projects from pre-construction through final closeout. This is a high-impact role for a PM who thrives on full project ownership, which includes managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and field teams across large-scale commercial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial mechanical and plumbing construction projects through all phases, from pre-construction planning and buyout through project closeout

  • Maintain full responsibility for mechanical and plumbing scope, including HVAC systems, piping, ductwork, and plumbing installations

  • Create, manage, and control project budgets including job cost tracking, cost-to-complete forecasting, and change order management

  • Create, maintain, and update project schedules in coordination with Superintendents and field leadership using look-ahead planning and baseline schedule management

  • Lead subcontractor buyout, scope review, and contract execution during pre-construction and project startup

  • Monitor field progress, manpower, productivity, and labor utilization to ensure project milestones are achieved

  • Identify and mitigate project risks, constructability issues, schedule impacts, and scope conflicts proactively

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, billing support, owner invoicing, and closeout materials

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for General Contractors, Owners, design teams, and all project stakeholders

  • Lead coordination with Mechanical and Plumbing Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and General Contractors

  • Review, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, specifications, and contract documents to keep projects moving

  • Drive timely resolution of field issues, design conflicts, and scope changes through coordination with internal teams and external partners

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, company safety policies, quality requirements, and project specifications

  • Support client communication, progress updates, Owner reporting, and alignment with contractual expectations

  • Participate in project meetings, OAC meetings, and internal project reviews
