Commercial Construction Project Manager
Position Overview
Staxmatic is seeking an experienced and driven Commercial Construction Project Manager (MEP) with a strong background in mechanical and/or plumbing construction to lead projects from pre-construction through final closeout. This is a high-impact role for a PM who thrives on full project ownership, which includes managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and field teams across large-scale commercial construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Manage commercial mechanical and plumbing construction projects through all phases, from pre-construction planning and buyout through project closeout
Maintain full responsibility for mechanical and plumbing scope, including HVAC systems, piping, ductwork, and plumbing installations
Create, manage, and control project budgets including job cost tracking, cost-to-complete forecasting, and change order management
Create, maintain, and update project schedules in coordination with Superintendents and field leadership using look-ahead planning and baseline schedule management
Lead subcontractor buyout, scope review, and contract execution during pre-construction and project startup
Monitor field progress, manpower, productivity, and labor utilization to ensure project milestones are achieved
Identify and mitigate project risks, constructability issues, schedule impacts, and scope conflicts proactively
Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, billing support, owner invoicing, and closeout materials
Serve as the primary point of contact for General Contractors, Owners, design teams, and all project stakeholders
Lead coordination with Mechanical and Plumbing Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and General Contractors
Review, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, specifications, and contract documents to keep projects moving
Drive timely resolution of field issues, design conflicts, and scope changes through coordination with internal teams and external partners
Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, company safety policies, quality requirements, and project specifications
Support client communication, progress updates, Owner reporting, and alignment with contractual expectations
Participate in project meetings, OAC meetings, and internal project reviews
