Commercial Construction Project Manager

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with engineers, architects, and general contractors (GCs) to determine project specifications and ensure all project requirements are met.
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors and subcontractors, securing favorable terms and managing relationships throughout the project.
  • Determine and allocate the necessary resources (manpower, equipment, materials) from start to finish, ensuring alignment with budgetary limitations.
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
  • Acquire equipment and materials, monitor inventory levels, and address any shortages or inadequacies promptly.
  • Hire and manage subcontractors, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and deliver quality work on schedule.
  • Oversee the work of field crews to ensure it meets quality standards and project deadlines.
  • Regularly evaluate project progress, preparing detailed reports to be shared with GCs and clients.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards, reporting and addressing any issues to maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ Years of proven commercial construction project management
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Project and Procore; experience with Sage and Podio is a plus
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards; OSHA certifications are an advantage
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Bi-Lingual in Spanish is a plus
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • PMP or equivalent certification is a plus

Qualifications

  • Proven success in managing complex construction projects
  • Experience with contract negotiation and resource allocation
  • Knowledgeable in construction safety and compliance
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
