Commercial Construction Assistant Project Manager - Mission Critical

Responsibilities

  • Maintain adherence to HITT’s standards of safety
  • Avoids delays by ensuring required documentation is filed
  • Aids in creating and managing project budgets for all assigned projects
  • Develops pre-construction RFP packages
  • Assists in conducting project meetings, setting milestones, and formulating monthly owner reports
  • Establishes job processes such as RFIs, submittals, and pay applications, including approving pay applications and negotiating subcontract change orders
  • Updates project schedules; ensures project quality control and establishes overall project logistics
  • Aids in managing the closeout process
  • Collaborates with the project superintendent and site operations team throughout the life of the project

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma is required, though a four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is preferred
  • Two to five years of experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor, is preferred
  • Previous experience on commercial job sites is required
  • Passion for construction and our industry, along with the ability to recognize and seek quality, is essential
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally, with a focus on audience-appropriate business writing and verbal skills, is necessary
  • A positive attitude and passion for construction and our industry are required
  • The ability to gather data, interpret it into meaningful information, and relay that information through clear, concise communication strategies, as well as the ability to see how pieces and processes fit into and affect the bigger picture/business model, is needed
  • A strong ability to organize and manage tasks and priorities is required
  • A strong ability to demonstrate integrity consistently with The HITT Way and HITT’s core values is necessary
  • A strong ability to adapt and exercise flexibility with the ever-changing world of technology, design, means and methods is required
  • The ability to create and maintain relationships with colleagues, clients, subcontractors, and vendors is essential
  • The ability to exhibit respectfulness by being punctual, engaged/focused, and respectful of others is required
