Principle Duties And Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and repair all commercial / industrial chillers.
- Perform new system start-ups and repairs on air conditioning and industrial chiller and refrigeration equipment.
- Work with low voltage temperature-control systems associated with HVAC equipment.
- Handle direct expansion constant volume, multiple circuited/compressor air conditioning equipment.
- Work with water-cooled AC units up to 100 tons.
- Work with water source heat pumps and associated equipment.
- Work with atmospheric gas fired hot water boilers.
- Work with most gas fired and electric heating systems typically found in commercial equipment up to 100 tons.
- Work with chilled and hot water piping and pumping systems and associated equipment.
- Work with computer room type units with self-contained humidifiers and controls.
- Work with non-BAS, pneumatic, electronic, and modular DDC temperature controls generally associated with commercial HVAC equipment.
- Work with air handling equipment typically found in larger commercial systems.
- Work with air-cooled water chillers equipped with reciprocating, scroll and screw compressors.
- Work with electronic controls incorporated with most packaged water chillers.
- Work with Electronic Variable Speed Drives typically connected to VAV air handlers, pumps, towers, etc.
- Work with VAV systems.
- Work with water-cooled DX water chillers equipped with reciprocating, centrifugal, scroll or screw compressors.
- Work with electro-mechanical motor starters, up to 480 volts, and associated controls.
- Work with chilled and hot water piping and pumping systems equipped with variable speed drives.
- Work with most gas fired and electric hot water/steam heating systems typically found in commercial boilers 200 HP and above.
- Work with electronic/variable speed starters.
- Work with specialty equipment providing constant temperature and humidity control.
- Work with electronic and computer controlled digital temperature controls systems typically found in commercial systems; utilize the BAS system to diagnose and repair system problems and components.
Experience, Training, And/or Certification
- 3 or more years of Chiller Service and/or refrigeration within a commercial or industrial setting.
- EPA universal certification preferred.
- Experience with RTU, air handlers, split systems, and chilled water systems is preferred.

- Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop, and comfortably lift up to 60 lbs.
- Proficiency in electrical and mechanical diagnostics.
- Familiarity with blueprint, schematic, drawings, and other equipment layout materials.
- Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening.
- Ability to pass a physical ability test.
- Ability to travel, as needed, for projects.
