About the role
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Office Lead Building Engineer to support a portfolio of three Class A/B office buildings located in the Dallas 75204 area. This is a contract opportunity for a hands-on building engineer who can independently maintain commercial office properties while assisting the engineering team until a permanent Lead Engineer is hired.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the daily operation of three commercial office buildings.
- Respond to tenant maintenance requests, including temperature adjustments, lighting repairs, and general service calls.
- Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair building systems, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment.
- Inspect buildings and equipment for safety and operational issues.
- Assist with installation and modification of building equipment.
- Coordinate work performed by outside vendors and contractors.
- Order parts and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment records.
- Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and safe.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of commercial building engineering experience
- Experience maintaining Class A and/or Class B commercial office buildings
- Strong knowledge of: HVAC systems, Electrical systems, Plumbing, Mechanical equipment, Elevators, Central plant/central AC systems, Cooling towers and air handlers, Building Automation Systems (BAS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), Life Safety Systems
- Experience preparing and maintaining tenant suites ("make-ready" spaces)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills
- Must be dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently

Pay
$30.00–$34.00 per hour
