About the role

Join Equity Bank as a Commercial Banker and help build and expand client relationships. You’ll deliver banking products and services tailored to individual client needs, ensuring a superior customer experience. Responsibilities

  • Customer Service
    • Manage and service commercial customer relationships as assigned.
    • Enhance client relationships through regular contact, providing high-level customer service and demonstrating an understanding of their business and risk profile.
    • Retain clients with acceptable risk profiles.
    • Demonstrate understanding, concurrence, and commitment to bank policies and procedures when managing client relationships.
  • Productivity
    • Meet or exceed annual loan, fee income, and deposit growth goals.
    • Monitor market conditions and competitor impacts to maintain competitive and profitable relationships.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of all commercial products, including loans, treasury management, trade services, and deposits to facilitate cross-selling.
    • Demonstrate a strong understanding and working knowledge of loan documentation to mitigate risk.
    • Maintain and monitor an annual personal plan for growth goals and objectives.
    • Maintain an active calling program for new business development with proper planning.
  • Profitability
    • Maximize customer profitability to meet EPS hurdles defined by the bank annually.
    • Optimize loan pricing, fee income, and deposit rates to meet or exceed financial goals.
    • Drive results to meet or exceed financial goals set for the individual and the bank.
  • Credit Quality/Credit Administration
    • Maintain acceptable levels of delinquencies, past dues, non-performing loans, and criticized/classified assets as defined by the bank annually.
    • Demonstrate strong credit skills in analyzing credit risk within the underwriting process.
    • Gather complete and adequate facts/information to assess risk while meeting deadlines.
    • Communicate potential credit downgrades in a timely and effective manner.
    • Maintain credit and documentation exceptions within acceptable standards.
  • Quality of Work
    • Demonstrate consistent quality in credit analysis and risk management.
    • Exhibit solid time management, organization, planning, and priority-setting skills.
    • Demonstrate sound business acumen and technical knowledge for underwriting and ongoing risk management.
    • Provide effective problem-solving solutions; look beyond the obvious.
  • Interpersonal Skills/Cooperation
    • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, including a cooperative spirit and positive attitude in all relationships.
    • Contribute to a professional working environment with respect to individual roles and responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (equivalent experience may apply).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a professional manner.
  • Computer skills, especially proficiency in Windows-based systems.
  • Agriculture experience is required.
  • Maintain a working understanding of and comply with banking regulations, bank policies, and procedures.

Physical Requirements
