Pay
Up to $37.00 per hour based upon weld qualifications. Night shift differential: 10%.
Schedule
Day and night shifts available. Paid time off after 90 days of employment. Paid holidays.

Responsibilities
- Manually guide electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle
- Obtain specified electrode and insert electrode into portable holder or thread consumable electrode wire through portable welding gun
- Connect cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as specified by Welding Engineer
- Start power supply to produce electric current
- Strike arc which generates heat to make and deposit metal from electrode to work piece and join edges of work piece
- Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions
- Clean or degrease weld joint or work piece, using wire brush, portable grinder, or chemical bath
- Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes
- Prepare broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces
- Chip off excess weld, slag, and spatter, using hand scraper or power chipper
- Preheat work piece, using hand torch or heating furnace
- Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in jig or fixture
- Tack assemblies together
- Cut metal plates or structural shapes
- Perform only those jobs on which they have been trained and/or authorized
- Work in accordance with safe job practices and comply with company safety rules
- Use required personal protective equipment
- Report unsafe conditions or practices
- Cooperate during investigation of any accidents that occur
- Participate in safety meetings, pre-job safety briefings, task hazard analyses, and Job Safety Analyses
Requirements
- TIG Unlimited Welder capable of certifying on TIG Unlimited pipe while being proficient in general welding processes
- Successfully pass the on-site Weld Test:
- All TIG welds must pass visual inspection and x-ray
- TIG all the way out 2.5” double heavy (552 wall) in a 6G position
- May require a high school diploma or its equivalent and previous years of related experience
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within welding
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
- Works under minimum supervision; typically reports to a supervisor
