Combination Commercial Building Inspector

About the role

The Building Inspector position at SAFEbuilt offers dynamic, motivated self-starters the chance to work on a variety of work assignments within a supportive team environment. This role is ideal for those with 3-5 years of experience in municipal code inspections and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections during various stages of construction
• Read and examine plans and specifications when required
• Report violations and maintain files/records
• Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology
• Ability to interpret codes in the field and provide code compliant solutions
• Positive interaction with staff, the public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clientele
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good time management, organization, and attention to detail skills
• Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and make decisions independently

Skills

Special License/Registration/Certification

• ICC Commercial Mechanical and Electrical Certifications Required
• ICC Combination Commercial Inspector preferred
