This position is for our Wood plant on D Crew (6:45 pm to 7:00 am) following a 2/2/3 schedule. Pay: $21.50/hour plus a 10% shift differential.
About the role
The Combi Forklift Driver/Operator ensures production machines and personnel have the materials needed to meet daily production requirements at our Prairie Avenue facility. This role reports to the Production Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to accident-free operations and compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Inspect forklifts daily to ensure safe operation.
- Follow instructions to determine raw materials and supplies needed for daily production.
- Ensure Extrusion Operators and Production Assistants receive materials on time.
- Observe and document silo readings to maintain appropriate material levels.
- Load and unload trucks, and assist with grinder operation and maintenance as needed.
- Load and unload materials onto pallets, trays, racks, and shelves using forklifts and manual methods.
- Transport regrind and finished materials to designated areas, including wrapping and banding.
- Count, weigh, and record units of materials moved or handled.
- Communicate daily issues and information to production staff.
- Fill propane tanks for forklifts as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision or management.
Requirements
- 1+ years of operating a Combi Forklift.
- 1+ years of manufacturing experience (preferred).
- Forklift Certification.
- Meet qualification and certification requirements of Azek’s Training Resources and Knowledge (TRAK) program.
- Understanding of process equipment operation.
- Strong decision-making, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-directed, motivated, and able to multitask in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- Flexibility to adjust work schedule with or without notice to meet business needs.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Ability to perform physical demands of the job, including:
- Pushing, pulling, lifting, and manipulating objects weighing 10–100 lbs.
- Standing for entire shifts; kneeling, lifting overhead, bending, climbing, and crawling.
- Working in a manufacturing environment with variable temperatures, including heat.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Schedule
D Crew: 6:45 pm to 7:00 am on a 2/2/3 rotating schedule.
Pay
$21.50 per hour plus a 10% shift differential.
