About the role
A Colorectal Surgeon is sought to provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient care, including general and colorectal surgeries, in a community hospital setting. The role offers work in a well-established community hospital with a referral network, access to a Cancer Center, and collaborative management of digestive diseases.
Responsibilities
- Perform colon and rectal surgeries
- Participate in the Main OR, Surgery Center, Endoscopy Suite, and clinic hours
- Manage a broad range of benign and malignant colorectal conditions
- Share on-call duties, initially 1:6 for general surgery, progressing to 1:3 for colorectal surgery
- Engage in multidisciplinary tumor boards and collaborate on complex cases, including IBD patients
- Provide both outpatient and inpatient services, with coverage supported by Surgical PAs
Qualifications & Skills
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Board eligible or certified in General Surgery and Colorectal Surgery
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited colorectal surgery fellowship
- Ability to obtain medical licenses and prescriptive privileges in NJ and PA
