Colorado counties reinstate indoor mask mandate
Denver Public Health and Environment has mandated that masks be worn in all public spaces effective November 24th. The order follows the Denver Public Health Order.
The Jeffco Board of Health passed a similar order requiring masks in public indoor spaces for individuals 3 years and older, effective November 24, 2021, at 12:01 AM MST, remaining in effect until at least January 3, 2022. The Tri-County Health Department (covering Arapahoe and Adams counties) issued a comparable order for individuals 2 years and older. More details here.
Each county’s order includes a “vax or mask” provision. In Denver, a Fully Vaccinated Facility is defined as an indoor facility where the owner, operator, or manager verifies that at least 95% of individuals (employees, patrons, etc.) are fully vaccinated. To qualify, the facility must notify DDPHE with the facility’s name, address, type, contact information for vaccination verification, and the date vaccination status collection began. Fully vaccinated means two weeks after the second dose in a two-dose series or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine.
These orders impact businesses and employees working in public areas within the specified counties. Boulder County has maintained an indoor mask mandate prior to these new issuances. Updates will be provided as the situation evolves.
