Cella is seeking a mid-to-senior Color Designer for Apparel to join a premier outdoor and streetwear design group. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend startup-style creative agility with high-impact storytelling, driving seasonal palette creation and dynamic color strategies that balance functional utility with cutting-edge aesthetic innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic color planning, seasonal color palette development, and precise color application across dynamic apparel lines.
  • Build cohesive narrative arcs through high-level color storytelling and confidently present creative concepts to cross-functional partners.
  • Craft comprehensive mood boards, trend analyses, and visual materials to establish clear directional visions for seasonal collections.
  • Analyze marketplace shifts, emerging consumer trends, and performance demands across outdoor, streetwear, and utilitarian apparel sectors to drive design innovation.
  • Collaborate closely with the broader design team, balancing fast-paced, startup-mindset execution with enterprise-level standards.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of dedicated professional experience in Color Design specifically focused on apparel.
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end color storytelling, high-level mood boards, complex color palettes, and varied product design experience.
  • Industry Focus: Demonstrated experience or strong familiarity with outdoor, streetwear, or performance apparel design.
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on expertise with industry-standard digital design software tools.
  • Background: Prior experience working within Fortune 500 organizations or dynamic, fast-paced team environments is strongly preferred.
  • Communication: Exceptional visual, written, and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of presenting complex creative concepts.

Pay

$40.00/hr – $46.66/hr (max)

Contract

6-month W2 Contract (Opportunity for extension based on performance and business needs)
