About the Role
The Certified Color Consultant is our steward to the industry, demonstrating our dominance in all things hair color. This role maximizes sales by creating increased customer retention and loyalty, building lasting relationships with DIY enthusiasts, and driving behaviors that grow brand awareness and hair color market share.
Responsibilities
- Brand (40%):
- Provide an optimal customer experience to ensure the DIY enthusiast successfully achieves their hair color goals.
- Introduce every customer to the Hair Color category and offer color consultations.
- Utilize selling skills to elevate Sally Beauty as the leader in hair color.
- Ensure all customer transactions are complete and accurate to drive incremental sales.
- Deliver behaviors consistent with driving desired client survey scores and reviews.
- Determine customer color and care-related needs, offering professional advice and recommendations.
- Assist the team in meeting or exceeding specific hair color sales goals.
- Generate cross-category sales by introducing new categories to each conversation.
- Operations (25%):
- Record all sales in the POS and handle monetary transactions (sales, returns, exchanges) accurately.
- Complete daily paperwork, reporting, and bank deposits as needed.
- Price merchandise, process back stock, assist with shipment processing, and maintain store cleanliness.
- Support planogram updates and store opening/closing duties as needed.
- Establish technical expertise in products, policies, and programs.
- Complete all training programs and stay current on industry trends.
- People (25%):
- Collaborate with customers and co-workers to meet store needs, including good attendance.
- Assist the Store Manager with onboarding and training new associates.
- Mentor other associates to elevate hair color knowledge.
- Advocate for diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Safety/Loss Prevention (10%):
- Comply with all safety and loss prevention policies.
- Follow inventory control procedures and hazardous material guidelines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- 1+ year of retail sales/customer service experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers, co-workers, and management.
- Must be available to meet the scheduling needs of the business.
- Ability to execute product knowledge from training to support customer service.
- Ability to explain product labels and follow directions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of iPad, internet, and social media platforms.
- Ability to present a professional image and interact positively with the public.

Pay
$13.00 - $15.00 per hour, depending on experience.
