Color Compounder - Materials

Responsibilities

  • Make pigment used each day and for large orders.
  • Perform extrusion tasks.
  • Bring Gaylord’s of resin or concentrate needed in blending.
  • Blow resin to ensure machines are not idle due to lack of material.
  • Keep material off the ground and clear from drains.
  • Ensure all lines outside the fence are capped and locked when not in use.
  • Complete any additional tasks assigned by the group leader.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds approximately 15 times per 8-hour day.
  • Ability to work independently in a potentially isolated area of the building.
  • Normal color vision (according to Ishihara Screen).
  • Ability to work in a dusty environment.
  • Ability to work at heights (with or without fall protection).
  • No risk of sudden alterations in consciousness.
  • Able to climb ladders safely and without assistance a minimum of 5 times per day.
  • Verbal communication skills adequate for using a radio or paging system to connect with coworkers.
  • Ability to work in extremes of heat and cold.
  • Able to use both hands effectively for manipulation of tools and parts.
  • Visual acuity of at least 20/50 for distance (corrected or uncorrected) and minimal near vision ability to read 10-12 point font at 12-18 inches.
  • Ability to stand or walk for 7 hours of an 8-hour shift.
