Collision Repair Appraiser

About the Role

As a Penske Collision Repair Appraiser, you are responsible for writing collision repair estimates with superior customer relation skills and strong communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Write collision repair estimates using the Adjustrite system and download into Summit
• Communicate with both internal and external customers
• Demonstrate working knowledge of body shop maintenance operations
• Manage people and projects as assigned by supervisor
• Comply with DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies, including proper use of tools, PPE, and best safety practices
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance
• Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
• Navigate the work environment safely, including areas with frequent movement of large trucks

Requirements

• At least 3 years of body shop estimating experience
• Estimator Certification required
• High School Diploma or equivalent (Vocational/technical school preferred)
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Strong written and oral communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to understand and comply with Penske management instructions, guidelines, rules, and regulations
• Willingness to travel as necessary and work at the specified location (5250 Old Maumee Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46803)
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner (DOT-regulated/safety-sensitive position)

Physical Requirements

• Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods
• Routine and daily use of hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, or operate tools/controls
• Ability to work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
• Ability to work safely in all weather conditions
• Ability to see and hear to safely navigate the work environment with frequent movement of large trucks
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg
