College Station 03 (Wellborn Rd) Tortilleria - Overnight Food Service Rep - Part time

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service: take orders by telephone or in person, answer product questions, assist with selections.
• Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product daily; slice, package, label, rotate, and cull products for poor quality; assist in technical areas (basic set‑up and clean‑up).
• Use suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation: clean and sanitize display cases, operate/maintain equipment properly, comply with H‑E‑B food safety and sanitation standards and department/store operating procedures.
• Bakery‑specific: record production and shrink for production planning; assist in technical areas (baking, frying, decorating); cull bakery products for poor quality and expiration dates.
• Deli‑specific: manage service counter, use ordering system applications, use Fresh Production Planner, perform inventory management processes (MSI, PAW) as required; ensure catering orders are ready for pickup; perform sanitation and maintenance tasks for deli slicers.
• Prepared Foods: serve/package products per customer request; educate customers on preparation/reheating instructions; prepackage condiments (sauces, dressings); cut, slice, dice, chop food for chef preparation.

Qualifications

• Age requirement: 18+.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (required):
  • Knowledge of computer systems and equipment (PC, symbol, scales, label machine).

• Education: HS Diploma or GED or equivalent (required).
• Licenses/Certifications (required):
  • Completion of Company Orientation.
  • Food safety and sanitation training (upon hire).

  • Function in a fast‑paced retail environment performing detailed and precise tasks while attending to customer needs.
  • Bakery duties: constant waist‑level reach and grasp; frequent standing, walking, shoulder‑level reach, bending; occasional sitting, overhead reach, knee‑level reach, floor‑level reach, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, stair climbing, pivoting, twisting, pushing/pulling with arms, pinching, fine motor movements, shoulder abduction; occasional exposure to wet, cold, hot conditions and loud noise; ability to lift 50 lbs and manage in excess of 70 lbs.
  • Deli duties: constant waist‑level reach and grasp; frequent standing, walking, stooping; occasional overhead reach, shoulder‑level reach, knee‑level reach, floor‑level reach, bending, squatting, crouching, kneeling, stair climbing, pivoting, twisting, pushing/pulling with arms, pinching, fine motor movements; occasional exposure to wet, cold, hot conditions and loud noise; ability to lift 55 lbs and manage in excess of 65 lbs.
  • Definitions: Constantly = 5.5+ hours per 8‑hour day; Frequently = 2.5‑5.5 hours per 8‑hour day; Occasionally = 0‑2.5 hours per 8‑hour day.
