College Planning Advisor

About the role

Deliver effective meetings with students to educate and empower them using the Class 101 curriculum. Encourage, motivate, and keep students on track throughout the college admissions process. Serve as an instructor for group prep classes and tutor SAT/ACT lessons and workshops. Gain expertise in Class 101 curricula and our approach to helping students and families. Identify student goals for college and career and understand family college budget requirements. Counsel students and families on scholarships and financial aid resources. Develop college lists and provide regular meeting summaries. Serve as a reliable source of knowledge for students and families. Maintain and grow knowledge of colleges popular with students in your area. Meet deadlines for submitting applications and develop reports on students’ progress on standardized tests. Guide students through the essay writing process.

Responsibilities

• Increase client base by communicating program details to prospective clients and referrals
• Follow up on leads, schedule family presentations
• Conduct sales presentations to potential students and families and close deals
• Meet and maintain monthly and quarterly goals
• Lead marketing activities and expand social media presence
• Assist with administrative tasks
• Manage intake of new students, scheduling, and calendar
• Create and deliver content for communication
• Establish and maintain professional relationships

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• Passion for working with high school students and their families
• Knowledge of business operations and sales
• Sales and/or customer service experience
• Familiarity with technology and social media
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong phone skills
• Ability to influence and build relationships
• Availability to work evenings and weekends
• Experience tutoring SAT/ACT prep preferred
