About the role
Lifesteps is a non-profit human services organization serving Western Pennsylvania for nearly 100 years by “helping individuals and families with life's changing needs.” The Agency provides programs and services to help those with special needs live to their fullest potential. The College (Career) Liaison is focused on marketing the Organization’s programs, services, and career opportunities. This role develops strategies to engage program leadership, referral sources, and business partners to achieve enrollment and staffing goals, while monitoring industry trends and identifying opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Develop partnerships with service delivery professionals and referral sources to maintain and/or grow existing business and identify new opportunities.
- Promote program(s) and employment opportunities through community/consumer educational events.
- Assist Marketing, Recruitment, and Program leadership with grass-roots marketing efforts to achieve enrollment and/or recruitment goals.
- Build a strong employer brand within the community.
- Drive program growth and development through strategic marketing efforts by attending community events and identifying strategies to achieve enrollment and recruitment goals.
- Build relationships and market job opportunities to universities, colleges, Vo-techs, and educational institutions to create a pipeline of talent for recruiting students and recent graduates.
- Develop relationships with educational institutions to establish internship programs (paid and unpaid).
- Contact university career counselors and provide materials about internship programs and job opportunities.
- Assist with marketing and hosting in-house educational career days for students and/or recent graduates.
- Represent the Organization at career fairs and colleges, including classroom presentations and interacting with students.
- Promote Organizational opportunities to alumni communities.
- Report recruiting metrics after career events, including the number of candidates attending, interviewed, and hired.
- Source potential candidates and promote the Organization on social media.
- Market the Organization’s programs, services, and employment opportunities by promoting the Organization’s vision, mission, and guiding principles.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED and five (5) years of outside sales experience OR an Associate’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate marketing activities into program enrollment and/or staff recruitment goals.
- Prior experience with grass-roots marketing and the ability to build relationships.
- High attention to detail with a focus on fact-based recommendations and/or decision-making.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Current driver’s license and the ability to travel for business utilizing a personal vehicle.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- Prior experience in Human Services, graphic design, advertising, social media marketing, and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Prior outside sales experience.
