Wilson & Company is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern focused on civil engineering to join our Las Cruces office. This is a year-round paid opportunity that could lead to full-time employment upon graduation.

About the role

As an intern, you will perform hands-on work to apply your classroom experience to real-world projects, helping you envision your future career. You’ll be an active member of our team, working for our clients on projects with our most experienced engineers. You will solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate with partners to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment. This role will introduce you to Wilson & Company’s culture, helping you evaluate our firm as a future career choice.

Responsibilities

  • Apply classroom knowledge to real-world civil engineering projects.
  • Solve complex problems and assist project managers.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers and partners on client projects.
  • Receive hands-on and tutorial training in highway engineering, municipal roadway engineering, and drainage engineering.
  • Work under the direct supervision of a Project Engineer as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Current civil engineering student with an interest in a civil-works career (e.g., highway engineering, municipal roadway engineering, drainage engineering).
  • Highly responsible and dependable with a strong work ethic.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to commute to/from school to the office (no remote work anticipated).
  • Capacity to balance school, internship, and personal demands.

Pay

Hourly earnings: $22.00 - $24.00
