About the role
The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Equal Employment and Civil Rights Office is seeking multiple College Intern 1 positions to assist with the American Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan for Right of Way projects. Interns will gather data to aid the Civil Rights Office in determining compliance with federal laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Use mapping and data collection tools to measure curb ramps for the ADA Transition Plan.
- Aid in collecting and recording information for a GIS database.
- Create mapping layers for various assets including curb ramps, sidewalks, pedestrian signals, parking lots, intersections, driveways, etc.
- Aid in developing and plotting mapping layers for each asset rating scale.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college pursuing an undergraduate degree.
- Maintain an academic load of at least six credit hours per semester.
- Ability to work outdoors and assist in field measurements.
