About the role

We are Collegewise, a college counseling company dedicated to helping high school students confidently navigate their journey to college. Our mission is to reduce confusion and anxiety in the college admissions process and empower students to reach their goals.

Responsibilities

  • Build authentic, meaningful high school experiences for students
  • Develop differentiated applications that reflect individual students' unique qualities
  • Find colleges that are the right fit for each student
  • Guide families through the college admissions process, often over multiple years
  • Work with a caseload of 40-50 students (range depends on track)
  • Engage with families in regular meetings and provide ongoing support
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other stakeholders
  • Adapt to the needs of diverse student populations and families

Requirements

  • Passion for helping students navigate the college admissions process
  • Experience working with high school students and families
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with students and families
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current in the field of college counseling

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in psychology, education, counseling, or a related field
  • Experience in college counseling or related field
  • Knowledge of college admission processes and trends
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport with students and families
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in using college counseling software and tools

Pay

Compensation varies by track and counselor level, ranging from $65,000+ for Partnerships Counselors to $75,000+ for Signature Counselors, with potential bonuses based on caseload performance.

Schedule

The position is fully remote, but applicants must reside in the U.S. and be eligible to work there. Availability during the Pacific timezone is a requirement.
