About the role

The College Aide will work with the Staff Development to execute staff development programs/plans for the agency. The selected candidate will assist with coordinating live and virtual training programs, planning, and scheduling of employees for various agency-wide trainings. Target staff for renewal of agency mandatory trainings, construction safety trainings and any other trainings or certifications that require renewals. Assist with entering of employee training records into the archive system and respond to employee enquiries sent to the Staff Development email.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Staff Development to execute staff development programs/plans for the agency.
  • Auxiliary in organizing live and virtual training programs.
  • Schedule employees for various agency-wide trainings.
  • Target staff for renewal of agency mandatory trainings, construction safety trainings, and other trainings/certifications requiring renewals.
  • Enter employee training records into the archive system.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding training.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or graduate school.
  • Full-time enrollment required during the school year.
  • Specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or related fields for IT positions.
  • 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study for IT positions.
  • Appointments to the Information Technology Fellow Assignment Level require approval by the Technology Steering Committee through the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications.

Qualifications

  • Assignment Level I: Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school.
  • Assignment Level II (Information Technology): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or related fields, including 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study.
  • Assignment Level III (Information Technology Fellow): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or another relevant field, including 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study. Approval by the Technology Steering Committee is required.

Skills

  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • New York City residency requirement within 90 days of appointment.
  • Residency requirement may be waived for certain City Employees who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years.
