About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Upward Bound, the College Advisor Aides provide essential administrative and office support to program staff, ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities. The role is part-time (20 hours per week) for a duration of 9 months, ending May 31, 2027, with possible extension.

Responsibilities

  • Program Administration (50%):
    • Manage administrative tasks including document preparation, file organization, supply management, and order processing.
    • Serve as a key point of contact, providing responsive telephone and in-person assistance to program staff, students, parents, and community members.
    • Coordinate schedules, travel arrangements, and appointments.
    • Maintain and update the program’s website and social media channels, using creative approaches to engage with current and former students.
    • Contribute to enhancing program operations and supporting team success through collaboration and initiative.
  • Academic Services (50%):
    • Support the development and implementation of academic workshops for program participants.
    • Assist participants during cultural and academic excursions, providing logistical support for key events.
    • Compile academic resources and tools to enhance classroom learning and promote continuous education.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience facilitating group activities and workshops.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Drive/Folders/Forms, Adobe Acrobat, web editing, and social media applications.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, logistical, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously in a high-volume, confidential environment.
  • Strong verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse groups.
  • Commitment to justice, equity, inclusion, and diversity.
  • Ability to self-motivate, work independently, and provide leadership and training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Education, Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience working in educational programs, student services, or administrative support.

Pay

$18.42 per hour.
