About the role
Our client is a collections-focused law firm seeking multiple collectors to join their team. This remote position involves contacting consumers to resolve outstanding balances while ensuring strict compliance with federal, state, and client guidelines. The ideal candidate is professional, persistent, and committed to ethical collection practices.
Responsibilities
- Contact consumers via phone and written communication to collect outstanding debts
- Negotiate payment arrangements in accordance with firm and client guidelines
- Review account documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all collection activities
- Respond to consumer inquiries regarding balances, payment options, and account status
- Handle inbound and outbound collection calls in a professional manner
- Ensure compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), state regulations, and firm policies
- Meet or exceed established performance goals and recovery targets
- Escalate disputes or legal matters to supervising attorneys as appropriate
Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of collections experience (law firm or legal collections experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of FDCPA and state collection laws
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to handle high call volume and manage multiple accounts
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collections software
