Collections Specialist - Call Center

Location: Topeka, KS Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Pay: $14.00 per hour + performance bonus opportunities Build customer service, collections, and account resolution skills in a full-time call center job. Berlin-Wheeler, Inc. is hiring a Collections Specialist - Call Center to join our team in Topeka. In this collections and customer service job, you'll make outbound calls, speak with consumers about past-due accounts, explain payment options, and help resolve account balances in a professional and respectful way. This job may be a strong fit for people with experience in collections, call center, customer service, customer support, sales, billing, banking, accounts receivable, retail, insurance, or other phone-based jobs. You do not need extensive collections experience to get started. Paid training is provided. What You'll Do Make outbound calls regarding past-due accountsSpeak professionally with consumers about account status and resolution optionsListen carefully to understand each consumer's situationNegotiate payment arrangements within established guidelinesExplain payment options clearly and accuratelyDocument conversations, account activity, and payment arrangementsProtect confidential informationFollow company policies, procedures, and applicable collection laws and regulationsProvide respectful, solution-focused customer service during difficult conversations What We're Looking For Comfortable speaking with people by phone throughout the dayProfessional, respectful, and confident communication skillsStrong listening and problem-solving skillsMotivation to work toward goals and measurable resultsComfort discussing payment options and account resolutionStrong attention to detail and accurate documentationBasic computer skills and ability to learn new systemsDependable attendance and reliability Helpful Experience Collections, call center, customer service, customer support, sales, inside sales, account management, accounts receivable, billing, banking, insurance, retail, financial services, telemarketing, or other high-volume phone environments may transfer well to this job.
