Collections Specialist

About the role

The Collections Specialist will be responsible for contacting consumers regarding past-due accounts and arranging payment solutions. They will also provide excellent customer service while maintaining collection goals, handling difficult conversations professionally, and performing skip tracing activities.

Responsibilities

• Contact consumers regarding past-due accounts and arrange payment solutions.
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining collection goals.
• Handle difficult conversations professionally and effectively de-escalate situations.
• Perform skip tracing activities to locate consumers who have become difficult to contact using multiple databases and resources.
• Document all account activity accurately and thoroughly.
• Manage a high volume of calls while maintaining attention to detail.
• Follow company policies and applicable collection regulations.
• Work collaboratively with team members to achieve department objectives.

Requirements

• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn multiple software programs.
• Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Outstanding customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

Qualifications

• Experience in collections, customer service, call center operations, or skip tracing is preferred but not required.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
