Collections Specialist

About the Role

Collections Specialists at OneMain work collaboratively with customers to provide consultative solutions for loan repayment, improving their financial outlook. This role spans servicing and collections for personal loans or credit cards, focusing on effective customer communication through digital channels such as web chat, text, and phone.

Work schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with a rotating Saturday every 6–8 weeks. Location: On-site in West Valley City, UT.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with financial servicing needs through inbound and outbound contact.
• Listen to customers’ specific situations and help determine how they can best utilize company products and services.
• Work cooperatively and independently in a goal-oriented environment to meet personal and team targets while balancing multiple tasks.
• Negotiate with customers to resolve account matters, adhering to all applicable laws, policies, and procedures, including FDCPA and state regulations.
• Maintain and document all relevant information on customer and account status.
• Collaborate in person and virtually with internal teams using available technology.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in utilizing multiple tools/systems simultaneously.
• Skilled at achieving and exceeding goals.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working in customer service, collections, or call center environments.
• Bilingual (Spanish).
