Collections Specialist
About the role
Established in 1975, Financial Pacific Leasing, Inc. (a subsidiary of Columbia Bank), is a direct provider of small-ticket commercial equipment leases. FinPac originates business through partnering with vendors, third party originators and lessors nationwide. For over 50 years, these partners have relied on Financial Pacific to provide them with innovative financing solutions for their customers.
Responsibilities
- Maintain acceptable effective collection percentages on 1-30 day delinquent accounts.
- Communicate with both internal and external customers to resolve delinquent contracts.
- Utilize all internal and external resources available to establish contact, identify appropriate courses of resolution to protect the Company’s interest and to execute the resolution plan in a timely manner.
- Negotiate payment arrangements with the customers to ensure timely payment.
- Maintain individual and group monthly delinquency goals.
- Ensure that individual call volume meets company standards for their prospective areas and calls are made in a professional manner.
- Assess miscellaneous collection fees including late charges, over-the-phone payment fees, contract addendum fees, documentation fees and interim payments.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation to include thorough notation of all communications with the customer or authorized parties.
- Understand the proper usage of extension, rewrites, addendums, and forbearances.
- Prepare status worksheets, payoffs, and amortization schedules and requests for Fair Market Values.
- Prepare Repossession Packets and demand letters when necessary.
- Understand and utilize company system and use of the phone dialer.
- Work with customers’ and Financial Pacific Leasing insurance company to ensure proper insurance coverage is obtained.
- Utilize the broker base and in-house broker representatives to resolve first payment default delinquencies.
- Provide highest level of customer service to all lessees, vendors, brokers and staff.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous Collection experience preferred.
- Presents oneself in a professional manner.
- Proactive and adheres to all company policies including Bank Secrecy Act and compliance regulations.
- Maintains confidentiality of all company information.
- Provides exceptional customer service and support to our customers, partners, and all levels of staff.
- Has working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Strong data entry skills.
Qualifications

Pay
The pay range for this role is $18.00 - $22.00. The pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
