Collections Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Collection Specialist to join our team at our corporate office in Raleigh. The ideal candidate will have a background in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage assigned accounts to ensure timely payment of outstanding customer invoices.
• Contact customers to follow up on overdue balances.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues.
• Update account status records and collection efforts in internal systems.
• Report on collection activity and accounts receivable status.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve account issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics preferred.
• Recent graduate, customer service, retail, or up to 1 year of relevant experience considered.
• Experience with filing notices and liens on past-due projects preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of billing procedures and collection techniques preferred.
• Working knowledge of MS Office products; Microsoft D365 a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
