About the Role

The Collections Associate I will assist Mediacom in maintaining our revenue stream by speaking with customers about past-due accounts and helping them make payments to avoid service interruptions. This role involves non-pay reminder activities and offers regular incentives based on individual performance.

Responsibilities

• Receive payments and post them to customer accounts.
• Contact customers to advise of potential service disconnection.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of collection activities and account status.
• Assist the payment center to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Process payment arrangements and follow through to ensure timely compliance.
• Monitor aged balance reports and assist with collections of NSF checks.
• Assess customer needs to determine appropriate payment arrangements within company guidelines.
• Partner with other departments to resolve billing or service disputes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to use mathematics to solve problems.
• Good listening, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of PC-based word processing and spreadsheet programs, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $14.00–$20.00 per hour, determined by factors such as years of related work experience, relevant skills and qualifications, education level, and certifications/licenses.
