Essential Duties
- Ensure compliance with all internal and external food production regulations and legislation.
- Establish, coordinate and enforce operational procedures and standards to ensure high product quality is produced.
- Organize and plan for current and long-term goals along with having a contingency plan for unpredictable outcomes.
- Cooking room production activities such as product preparation, cutting, sorting, packaging and cleaning.
- Manage and inspect quality of received product, trimmed product, and waste.
- Manage the overall production of processed produce for shipment to our customers and ensure the final product meets set specifications.
- Assign tasks appropriately, using all resources and support available to meet or exceed productivity and quality standards, and appraise the results.
- Walk processing department daily to identify sanitation issues and address.
- Maintain the physical condition of the processing department and all food production equipment within the department, ensuring workplace health and safety requirements are met.
- Ensure Training is completed for processing personnel.
- Act as liaison between all departments and processing.
Qualifications
- Food production industry preferred.
- Fresh produce experience preferred.
- Able to adapt to changes quickly and make production decisions as needed.
- Must have supervisor, time management and decision-making skills.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact tactfully and effectively with all business operators and diverse company personnel.
