Cold Room Laborer Othello

Key Responsibilities

• Operating a fork lift to handle all bulk product and materials related to work area
• Scanning, creating or reworking bulk tickets
• Cleaning food contact surfaces, floors, framework and the environment of the assigned work area
• Understanding the purpose and operation of the Cold and Day Room Areas and making decisions based on sound judgment as a situation may dictate

Requirements

• Typical Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Relevant Experience: Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in a manner to successfully perform the job duties
• Basic Math Functions: Must be able to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication and counting)
• Basic Computer Skills: Must be able to perform basic computer skills (turn computer on, use a mouse, save a document, and open a file or program)
• Tell Time: Must be able to tell time
• Distinguish Colors: Must have the ability to distinguish colors
• Manual Dexterity: Must have manual dexterity in both hands
• Forklift Operation: Must be able to safely drive a forklift; ie: drive backward while looking over shoulder, etc.
• Lifting Capacity: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs in a safe and proper manner
• Push/Pull Force: Must be able to use up to 50 pounds of push/pull force needed to push/pull barrels weighing up to 450 lbs using a rolling device
• Physical Demands: Must be able to maneuver in close quarters and climb stairs and ladders
• Standing: Must be able to stand on concrete floors for long periods of time
• Extreme Environments: Must be able to work in extreme environments: hot or cold temperatures and wet and slick floors
• Hazardous Chemicals: Must be able to work with and around hazardous chemicals wearing appropriate PPE, includes but no limited to, full wetsuit, boots, chemical gloves and face shield or goggles
