A premier manufacturer and innovator in the fastener industry, Abbott Metal Werks operates a 100,000 sq. ft. ISO-certified and ITAR-registered facility in Wheeling, Illinois. We serve North American OEMs and customers worldwide, producing high-quality fastener products since 1948.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and resolve minor machine issues to minimize downtime
- Conduct regular inspections and quality checks of production output to ensure compliance with specifications
- Maintain accurate records of production metrics and machine performance
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines
- Assist in training new operators on machinery and procedures
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in cold heading or a similar manufacturing role (required)
- Experience in cold forming nut or part formers (preferred)
- Jern Yao experience (highly desirable)
- Understanding of cold heading technology and processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Familiarity with quality management principles and ISO standards
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift 50 lbs, and work in various temperatures and conditions
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
