COLD FOOD (SALAD) (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

About the role

Cold Food (Salad) positions are available at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Address: 70 Monroe Street, Alva, OK 73717. Online applications are accepted only. Schedules are either full time (Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, or Monday through Thursday, 11:00 am to 7:00 pm) or part time. Prior food service and knife skills are required, and this position may involve standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Obtains daily production schedule and preparation requirements from Chef.
• Prepares sandwich meats, cheeses, condiments and salads using approved production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
• Stocks and replenishes deli/cold products and condiments following approved merchandising guidelines.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from workstation, stove and refrigerator.
• Stores food in designated areas following HACCP standard wrapping, dating and rotation procedures.
• Cleans, sanitizes and maintains counters, work surfaces, refrigeration units and floors in the preparation and serving areas.
• Positions and clamps meat, cheese or vegetables on cutting board and cuts slices to designated thickness.
• Adjusts knob to set machine for desired thickness and presses button to start motor that moves carriage past rotary blade that slices meats and cheeses.
• Interacts with coworkers to ensure compliance with company service standards, inventory and cash control procedures.
• Maintains clean, safe work environment to comply with sanitation, ServSafe and safety requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Prior food service and knife skills are required; this position may require standing for long periods.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Prior food service experience is preferred.

Skills

Knife skills, food service experience, and ability to follow production standards are essential.

Pay

$12.50 per hour to $14.00 per hour.
