Position Overview
The Finance Manager will play a key leadership role within the Coinvest Finance Group, supporting the accounting, operational, tax, and strategic activities associated with Bain Capital’s coinvest partnerships. This individual will be expected to operate with a high degree of ownership and autonomy while partnering across teams and functions throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the accounting, operational, and financial oversight of various coinvest partnerships
- Manage operational and administrative activities of the partnerships, including cash management, capital calls, cash and stock distributions, custody processes, reconciliations, compliance reporting, and valuation reporting
- Evaluate and analyze complex investment transactions, partnership allocations, and accounting conclusions associated with evolving deal structures and liquidity events
- Serve as a key point of coordination and partnership across internal teams
- Support investor facing activities including onboarding investors, policy administration, overseeing investor reporting, and responding to ad-hoc inquiries
- Identify opportunities to enhance processes, strengthen controls, and increase operational efficiency through technology, automation, AI tools, and scalable workflows
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership on strategic initiatives, special projects, and the continued evolution of the Coinvest platform
- Mentor and develop junior team members while contributing to broader team planning and leadership initiatives
- Oversee partnership reporting deliverables and coordinate closely with internal and external tax advisors on annual tax reporting and related partnership matters
General Qualifications
- 6-8 years accounting experience in financial services, with strong exposure to investment partnerships, private equity, asset management, hedge funds, or alternative investments
- Background in public accounting, asset management audit, tax, or partnership accounting preferred
- Strong understanding of partnership structures, allocations, and investment operations
- Prioritized ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high attention to detail
- Demonstrated leadership capability, including experience mentoring or managing team members
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision-making, and organization skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
- A high degree of professionalism, accountability, and ownership
- An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently and drive initiatives forward
- Interest in process improvements, operational optimization, and leveraging technology to improve workflows and scalability
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Familiarity with AI tools and technologies (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude) and a willingness to explore and adopt emerging AI solutions
Desired Background/Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field
- CPA and/or Master’s Degree preferred
