Cognitive Therapist

Responsibilities

• Plan, Lead and facilitate team activities both in house and on outings
• Maximize residents' participation in groups and activities
• Counsels and encourages patients to develop leisure activities
• Identify, address, de-escalate resident behaviors as necessary
• Compose Tally sheets, progress/service notes and all other necessary documents
• Prepares progress charts and periodic reports for medical staff and other members of treatment team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, or a closely related Human Services field, required
• 3 years of work experience working in the mental health field, preferred
• Ability to lead both group and 1:1 sessions
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and promote a positive environment for both team members and participants
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
• Demonstrated ability to remain calm in tense and high-pressure situations
• Proven track record of timeliness and accountability
