About the Opportunity:The CODING SPECIALIST 2 role is responsible for reviewing electronic and written medical records to convert documentation into precise diagnostic and procedure codes. This position ensures timely and accurate coding to support appropriate reimbursement and collaborates with clinical staff to clarify documentation. The role may also involve quality audits, data collection, and reporting to maintain coding standards. Responsibilities:Review electronic and written medical documentation for coding.Convert documentation into diagnostic and procedure codes using ICD CM and CPT/HCPCS.Communicate with clinical staff to ensure accurate code selection.Assist with quality and productivity audits.Collect and monitor data related to coding activities.Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality. Requirements:High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.Completion of college-level courses in ICD, CPT4, and HCPCS verified through AHIMA or AAPC or relevant experience in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.AHIMA or AAPC Certification.At least 1 year of experience in a medical office.Experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding.Previous experience using EPIC.Knowledge of insurance and third-party billing.Computer proficiency and keyboard skills.
