Job Summary

Ascension seeks a skilled Medical Coding Documentation Specialist to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. The role involves conducting regular audits, preparing actionable reports, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Role

This position requires a high school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or an Associate's degree, or Technical degree. One year of experience is also required. Prior experience in medical coding and authorizations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular, structured audits of coding records to ensure accuracy and compliance with system standards.
• Prepare and deliver clear, actionable audit reports to key stakeholders.
• Develop proactive corrective action plans to address coding, billing, and documentation issues.
• Design and deliver virtual educational programs for the coding staff.
• Maintain and refine auditing and monitoring programs to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
• One year of experience required.
• Experience in medical coding and prior authorizations is preferred.
• Ability and willingness to travel across multiple sites in Florida.

Qualifications

• Must live within 50 miles of Jacksonville.
• Must be able to work a full-time schedule.

Pay

$31.35 - $42.40 per hour.
